Patience is a Virtue

I am not good at this at all!

I have realized over the years that when I want something done or I have to wait for something to happen I am extremely inpatient. I can't exactly pin point why I am that way but I know that it is true. But after a few experiences of doing things to quickly and not being patient enough and realizing that if I would have been patient things would have worked out better I decided to give it a try.

Our current apartment that we live in is, to say the least, not my favorite. Currently there is construction right outside my window that has been going on since February/March - that does not make it easy to put a baby down for a nap when your apartment is rumbling. Our complex is suppose to be a no smoking complex, but I am pretty sure I have seen everyone smoking. And lastly it gets dirty so fast. Not because of our clutter or things in our apartment but because of how windy it is where we live. We do not have air conditioning so I like to open the windows but if I do that the wind carries all the dust from the construction area and blows it into our apartment. I am constantly cleaning/dusting and I hate it.

But Zach and I were determined to stay here until our lease agreement was up. I would look everyday on Craigslist to see what was available and we even had our names down to live in a subsidized housing complex, but nothing was happening and I was quickly becoming inpatient again.

Then out of no where I was told about a couple who was getting ready to move out of their apartment and they were looking for another couple to move in. The catch to this was that they were also managers of the complex that they lived in and apparently the landlords were being really picky about who could take their spot.

I gave this couple a call and asked them what they thought of the job and how they liked living in that area. After they were through answering all my questions they suggested that we just apply and see what happens. So last night I sent out a resume and cover letter and this morning I had an interview with the landlord. By the time I left the interview we had the job and the apartment. But the best part is that since we agreed to manage the complex we will get FREE RENT!!!!

Needless to say, from now on I am going to try and be as patient as possible!
