Excuse 1: The Move

When we decided to move into our new apartment we decided to make some changes. We were going to be paying more for more space, obvioulsy, but we didnt want to be paying for "extras", like TV and internet. The one nice thing about our last apartment was that everything was included in our rent. This is not the case at our current apartment.

Zach and I are fans of John Bytheway and we frequently listen to his talks on CD. One talk that we really like is called "Turn off the TV and get a Life!" I love this talk and yes we took it literally. He talks a lot about TV and how we dont really learn anything new, its just entertainment. But they key is that we can entertain ourselves by doing other things that are interactive. He also touches on the internet and how that can be a distraction. So we dediced that since I am at work (on a computer all day) I can check my e-mail and whatever else I need to do with the internet while I am work. And since Zach is a student at school and is at the school all the time he can do whatever he needs to do with the internet at school. We also decided that we would try not having a TV either and see how this works.

We really like it. When we are home together we are just home. No distractions, no nothing. We have read quite a few books together. We still watch movies on our computer and we just get to spend more quality time with one another. Im pretty sure that we have decided that for as long as we can do this we will. We have also saved quite a bit of money by not paying for these extras! Its nice to see our bank account grow instead of dissapear!
