Happenings

Well this is a much needed post about all the things happening in our life. No pictures this time so if you dare, read on!

1. When we moved to Cedar City we had to find an apartment fast and didnt have a lot of time to look. The first one we looked at was the one we took. It was a cute little one bedroom in the basement of the house. We were looking through rose colored glasses. Shortly after we moved in we realized that we could hear the kids running through the house. Our first thought was "oh cute", which then turned to "i hate this". Then we realized that if it rained or snowed we ended up with a nice little pond in our living room. We decided that we might need to move. So we looked and looked and now we are living in a cute townhome with an extra bedroom for expansion one day! Needless to say we LOVE IT!

2. I thought that after I was done at the LDS Business College I would just want to work for a while and wait to go back to school. This seemed true when I was working at an OB/GYN office. I was run very efficiently and I really enjoyed the ladies I worked with. Then we moved and I was very, very lucky to find a job in little cedar city at a Pediatric clinic. I slowly started realizing how much I was not enjoying this. Not becasue of the work, but because of the management and how things are run. (I have some opinions about things.) After many late night talks with Zach about what to do we have felt very strongly about me going back to school. I have applied to SUU where Zach is attending school and my declared major is Human Nutrition. I am more than excited about this!

3. The holidays were just as I like them. Filled with family all around. We were lucky enough to go to St. Louis for Thanksgiving and Zach got a real taste of the Nelson clan! We ate lots of food and made room for Lion's Choice (worlds best roast beef sandwich) and Tedrews (amazing frozen custard). Next up was Christmas with Zachs family who flew in from Georgia! Im grateful that Zach has a pretty big family too. I felt right at home with a bunch of people running around. Although we were missing Josh, Zachs oldest brother. He lives in Texas and works as a teacher. I do hope that one holiday we will get to have EVERYONE there from Zachs family.

4. Second job! Zach has been working up at The Grand Lodge at Brian Head Ski Resort for the ski season. I recieved a phone call from Zach one day saying "would you ever want to work in a spa". My response was "yes". And a few minutes later I was stressing that I haven't worked in a spa/salon since my time doing hair competitions and that I would now be working in a spa at a resort. It has been wonderful keeping up on my skills and really using my cosmetology license.

5. Summer plans. Right after we were married we decided to move to New York for Zachs job and work for the summer. We lived on Long Island and made the most of everything. The next summer we decided to pass up that option and stay in Salt Lake. This summer we will venture out again for the summer and this time around we wil be in....... ST. LOUIS!!!!! Yes, all you St. Louis family that is reading this Zach and I will be there from May - August. I hope that I get to see all of you! Not only will I get to be around family but Zachs two brothers Curt and Alex will be coming, Curts wife Jenna and their baby Brooklynn and Jennas brother with be with us. I have a feeling this summer will be true bliss filled with family left and right! I can't wait!!!!

I know this was long, so if you made it this far it means you really care about my life! Love ya!!!

  3. Exciting! We miss you! Maya is 4 months old and starting to be really fun. Don't know if you heard, but Polly was diagnosed w/ breast cancer. She is recovering from surgery. Keeping her in our prayers for sure. Other than that...not much has changed. Noone new pregnant or getting married at the office (that I know of!) Good luck with school!
