Tender Mercy : The Temple

This weekend was yet another trip up to Salt Lake/Provo. The last few trips we have made up there we have not really been able to see any of Zachs siblings. So we decided we would stop by and see how everyone is doing.

Side Note: Zach and I have made a goal to visit all the temples in Utah. The key is that we have to go together. Believe it or not we have never been to the Provo temple together. I have been by myself plenty of times and the same goes for him too.

We decided that we would stop at the Provo temple and do some initiatories (sp) and then we would be on our way to Salt Lake. As I walked into the dressing room it was packed. The wait was at least 35 minutes. I waited patiently, was called back and I kept checking the time so we could leave by noon. When I was done I dressed quickly and Zach was already waiting for me in the lobby. We headed toward our car that was parked in the lot closest to the MTC. We had discussed earlier about our friend Nicole, who was in there, and that there was no possible way that we would run into her on a Saturday. We got closer to the car and I noticed someone running toward me. I didn't have my glasses on so I couldn't tell who it was until she was a few feet in front of me. It was NICOLE!!!!!! She hugged me and I hugged her back! Of course I started crying (thanks mom) and I could not get the smile off my face. The craziest thing of all was that we were planning on going to the Manti temple instead of the Provo. When I was in the temple I almost left early but felt that I needed to stay a few more minutes. As I was talking with Nicole she said "Oh Marilyn, this is such a tender mercy!" It was! I am grateful that the Lord has his hand in my life. I am so grateful for the temples and for the Spirit and for my amazing friend who has decided to serve a mission. I am grateful for all of the little tender mercies in my life.

The rest of our Saturday was just as good. I got to spend time with Courtney and Jenna. They are both expecting babies very soon. Jenna is actually over due. So, to baby Brooklynn, hurry up and come out. Your aunt Marilyn would like to see you! Afterwards it was back down to Provo for a visit with Michael and Lindsey. Lindsey is also pregnant and due in January.... I was feeling a little out of the loop. I cut Michael's hair for an interview that he has on Monday for a promotion within the company he works for. Good luck Michael!!! Even though all the traveling takes a lot out of me I was so grateful to see quite a bit of my family. I love them all and I am very blessed to have them in my life.
